LAA Training Committee

Purpose

The Training Committee is charged to develop the annual LAA webinar series and organizes training opportunities for LAA members. This work stems from the reality that accessibility is an ever-evolving, critical facet of library work and staying up-to-date with the technology, legal landscape, and cultural/institutional aspects of developing accessibility programs is critical to their success and sustainability.

Scope

This group is focused on identifying and administering training opportunities for the LAA membership, primarily through developing an annual webinar series. The Committee will identify themes and topics of webinars, seek out appropriate instructors and facilitators, and work with other LAA-affiliated groups in promoting these events to reach the widest possible audience.

Deliverables

  • Annual webinar series (3-4 sessions or more)
  • Recordings of past webinars in an accessible format

Timeline

The timeline of this group is ongoing and cyclical. The webinar series is scheduled based on instructor/facilitator availability and funding.
